Her Pro Bono Program powered by Walmart.org offers technical assistance and one-on-one coaching for women founders primarily in retail-facing businesses. The program will support women founders across Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia.

The program will provide support to small businesses in the following areas: Operations, Marketing, Sales, Fundraising, and Wellness. The areas of focus will strengthen the business’s infrastructure, positioning women to become credit and capital ready. Grant opportunities are available.

HER Probono Provider Overview

Our Village United’s HER Pro Bono Program will provide business support to women-owned businesses throughout the southeast region of the United States. These services range from 1-1 coaching to Business Operations, Fundraising, Marketing, Sales, and Wellness. This is a paid partnership and is open to service providers nationwide. 

Application responses are assessed based on the following criteria:

  1. Complete answers to all questions and sections;
  2. Demonstrated paid work experience as a consultant or business

Due to the expected high volume of applications, we may not be able to reply to each application. Be sure to check out the FAQs for answers to common questions. 

What are you looking for in providers?

We are seeking skilled service providers with a minimum of 3 years of experience in business operations, marketing, sales, fundraising, and wellness. Our focus is on supporting women-owned retail businesses by providing personalized one-on-one coaching to help them address the challenges of their growing ventures.

Will HER Pro Bono Providers receive compensation?

Yes, HER Pro Bono Providers will receive compensation based on the length of time they commit and the available program budget. Compensation reflects the dedication and expertise providers bring to the businesses they coach.

What is the commitment duration for HER Pro Bono Providers?

HER Pro Bono Providers are expected to commit to a minimum of 8 months. This duration allows for a substantial impact on the businesses’ growth and ensures a meaningful coaching relationship.

How will I be contacted if I am selected as a provider in the program?

We will email all businesses/consultants who are selected to participate in the program. Be sure you provide your best email address.

Am I going to be contacted if I am not selected as one of the providers?

Our goal is to email each business even if they were not selected. 

What if this would be my first-time providing services?

We require HER Pro Bono Providers to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in their respective fields. We aim to provide high-quality coaching, and this requirement ensures that providers have the necessary expertise to guide women-owned retail businesses effectively.

Do I have to be a Black-owned business?

No. Our service providers can be from all backgrounds and/or ethnicities.

Will I get to choose the businesses I’d like to offer my services to?

This is determined by the Our Village United team during the selection process based on the services offered by the provider and the needs of the businesses accepted into the HER Pro-Bono Program.

How long has HER Pro Bono been in existence?

This is the first iteration of HER Pro-Bono. We ask for your continued patience and support as we work hard to build out this program. There will be opportunities and listening sessions designed to gather feedback on the program.
